Disconcerting it is
Yet strangely exciting
That after all this time,
Confessions, promises and compromises
After simple beginnings and irrational endings,
I recognise you with a clarity like no other
The most logical hyperbole known to man.
At the island, I meditate on a rock
Greenschist and quartzite
Metamorphosis of our destinies,
Immune to thunderstorms that could erode fertile hopes
Steady against earthquakes and storm surges that threaten to wreck our palace of illusions.
I am comforted, distressed and grateful
Reconciling myself to the fact that you were, and you are
Incomparable
Inexplicable
And unforgettable
A fact that perturbs, then consoles, as it always will.
˜ Traducción al español : Spanish translation ˜
Es desconcertante
Y cada vez más emocionante
Reconocer de manera extraña
Que después de todo lo que he confesado yo
Y has prometido tú,
Eres solamente, simplemente e ilógicamente
La hipérbole más razonable del mundo.
En la isla, medito en una roca
Piedra verde y cuarcita

As someone who is intrigued by geology, I am quite impressed by your quirky style of introducing geological concepts quite subtly to explain your feelings.. Beautifully written yet again, Madam..!! 😊😊

Thank you again!
As mentioned previously, I do enjoy finding similarities between Nature and humankind. Humbling to consider it.
Thanks for reading, happy day 🙂

Hola Marta 🙂 Thank you for stopping by, I’m delighted that you liked my poem.
Writing in two languages is exciting for it reveals new possibilities, ways of thinking and being. It is frightening for the very same reason. Yet, I think the challenge is stimulating and highly satisfying. Language, a pleasurable experience, wouldn’t you say so?

Yes. I have done that too and posted a few short poems in German plus their translations into English or into Catalan, my first language. Recently, and especially to honor International Women’s Day, I have made a video with a Revolution Dance. It is here: https://momentsbloc.wordpress.com/

Greetings, Marta! It’s a pleasure to engage with your work. I’ve left a comment on your original post, questions that may or may not have easy answers. Yet, that is the purpose of art, isn’t it? To challenge us to confront our insecurities, counter the status quo and imagine what could be. I believe your dance video achieves all that and more.
Take care, y Saludos desde Australia 🙂
